Jennifer Lawrence is no stranger to major events and high fashion. She has dominated red carpets in exquisite outfits that have been the subject of numerous talk shows and fashion experts in the past.

The Hunger Games actress showed up at the Governors Awards looking like chic perfection in a Dior dress, accompanied by her Causeway costar Brian Tyree Henry.

Floral Princess

The Academy Award winner pulled up on the red carpet in a black floor-length Dior dress at the 13th Governors Ball in Los Angeles. Lawrence looked like a goddess in the spaghetti strap dress featuring a layered skirt with trimmed black lace ruffles embellished with white flower and star accents.

She kept it simple in the accessory area with diamond stud earrings and natural makeup with dramatic eyeliner and rosy lips. Her ginger and blonde colored hair shone brightly on this outfit as she posed for pictures and showed off her glowing skin.

About 'Causeway'

Lawrence played the role of a U.S. soldier who finds a way to re-adapt to life at home in New Orleans after suffering a traumatic brain injury during her military tour in Afghanistan. She develops a friendship with a mechanic, played by Henry, another lost soul who yearns to move beyond a trauma that's changed the trajectory of his life.

Director Lila Neugebauer described the project as a "very personal work" and that the script was "characterized by a deeply felt lyricism and patience." The movie is out now on AppleTV+

Novelist Elizabeth Sanders adapted the movie from her own short story Red, White, and Water. In an interview, Neugebauer recalls that the original script for Causeway struck a familiar chord with Lawrence, who read it about six weeks after Neugebauer had immersed herself in the project.

The director continued that Lawrence showed genuine interest and reached out to her to discuss the script in New York, where they both lived.

"We have very different life experiences, the two of us, but there was a degree of connection to this material, and to this character's inner life, that connected us to one another, quickly and deeply."

A Rich Resume

While she won no award at the event, Lawrence won her first Oscar for Best Actress in 2013 for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and also received nominations for her roles in Winter's Bone, American Hustle, and Joy.

She's currently filming her next movie, a romantic comedy titled No Hard Feelings, as she was spotted last month on set with Andrew Barth Feldman, who's also starring in the movie.

Lawrence surely has her hands full as she's also a producer on the film.
