Jennifer Aniston has become so synonymous with health and fitness that there’s an actual salad named after her. Supposedly, it’s the salad that the 53-year-old Hollywood A-lister ate every day for 10 years on the set of Friends, and it consists of bulgur, cucumbers, parsley, mint, red onion, garbanzo beans, feta cheese, and pistachios.

It does sound healthy and yummy, but Aniston revealed in a recent conversation with Shape that it’s actually not her recipe. Scroll to read what she said.

“I'm sorry, I feel like I'm disappointing everybody, but that's not my salad,” the Morning Show star told the publication. “It looks delicious, but it's not the salad that I had on Friends.”

She did share her real recipe, though, and it’s just as appetizing and nutritious as the “fake” one. It has shredded lettuce, chicken, egg whites, garbanzo beans, bacon, vinaigrette, and sometimes pecorino cheese that she would get from an Italian restaurant near the set.

Her Favorite Smoothie

So, Aniston had this salad every day for a decade, but some things have changed since then in terms of her diet. Her nutrition strategy these days: “Focus on really being good to yourself but also allow yourself the moments of indulgence.”

She is currently the Chief Creative Officer of collagen brand Vital Proteins, and their products are a staple in her pantry. One of her favorite breakfast smoothies is a blend of Vital Proteins Chocolate Collagen Peptides, chocolate almond milk, cherries, banana, stevia, antioxidants, ice, spinach, cinnamon, matcha powder, and almond butter.

Slowing Down During The Pandemic

As for her fitness routine, the We’re the Millers actress used to have intense days at the gym doing spin, yoga, and strength training. But the pandemic changed that.

“I kind of really fell out of working out,” she said. “I usually would wake up, no matter what I was doing, and I would get at least 20 minutes in for a workout, and for whatever reason, my body was saying 'nope, this is not what your body wants.’”

Nowadays, Aniston is into Pilates and meditation, especially since the stress of the pandemic made her realize that mental health was very important, too. “I really, really give a lot of credit to morning meditation,” she told Popsugar in a recent interview. “Don't just mindlessly wake up. Wake up, take a moment. Don't look at your phone.”
